Does anyone have any pics of the insides of their propex heaters they can post here, I bought a second hand one the other day and the wiring is a bit here and there with quite a few open ends.

Sorry no but you will need to be more specific as there are different models and thay have changed over the years
why not post a picture of yours save people wasting their time on the wrong model.

If its foobarred, Propex themselves are the only reliable and safe option. Send one in and it comes back virtually brand new for about £150. Much as I love to tackle all jobs myself, thats one I have to concede on. They're the only people that carry the spares, and they can spot stuff we can't as they have all the test gear. They also guarantee the work.
More to the point its worth putting them in for a proper service after 10 years anyway (putting mine in next Summer), if only for peace of mind. Their service team are excellent. Everyone I've known about comes back with new burner and fan as a minimum. If either of those begin to play up, it generally won't fire up as the inbuilt protection is very efficient. As it should be. A clean wouldn't sort it in that instance. The only repairs I've been happy to tackle on mine was a corroded exhaust stub (a new stub and plate welded underneath) and an electrical fault due to poor grounding - ended up earthing the case directly inside.
Finally, every Propex unit should be fired up at least once a month regardless of whether you're using it or not to ensure the fan bearings don't end up seized through lack of use etc. An air line can be used to blow out spiders and debris from external pipes.
Do an image search on Google - theres a few there and in most cases the components are the same or similar. However, no full wiring diagram exists in public domain, nor will Propex provide one, understandably.
