Following on from ^^^^ try pulling your knob off and put a piece of cardboard in the bottom of the hole of the knob. This has worked for several people, it compensates for wear which then doesn't permit the gas valve to open fully. Worth a try.

What is the gas like on the rings. I have had 2 regulators pack up in 3 years.
Gave the impression that the gas was low fridge should not start but new bottle.
They are not expensive and all the agents stock them which tells you what reliability is like.

Wish I had seen this while still at Swanage :-(

First thing I had to do on arrival on Friday was sort our fridge out. Was working fine on gas and electric last week but not on Gas on Friday. Ended up pulling the fridge out on the campsite, sticking it on the outside table and cleared some crud that was stopping the igniter sparking. Bits fall down the chimney and short the electrode out. Second or third time this has happened.

Would have been happy to look at yours too if I knew.

Just revisiting this thread as we are still having problems. as we have had 240v for the last few holidays it hasn't been a problem.

On the advice of on member I replaced the regulator as we had noticed a reduced power on the cooker. On testing with the fridge, it lit and ran well. :P

We tested it a few times, all seemed fine. I have just gone to check it before we go away on Thursday and the ignitor is now not working!!

I have checked the voltage supply at the fuse and also at the switch, but there is no response from the ignitor. Am I looking at an ignitor module fault?

thank

Forgot!

also, when I tipped it on its side to check things, liquid came out from inside. I think it was most probably the condensation catcher under the cooling element, but I'm worried it may be the fluid from the refrigerant?

It won't be. The refrigerant would evaporate VERY quickly.

Is your van a westy? Mine igniter stopped clicking. It turned out to be the corrosion on aluminium bullet fuses in the small black fuse box on the B pillar, beside the driver's seat. I cleaned up the connections and replaced the old fuses with copper ones and the igniter started working straight away.

Have you considered knob wear like in OBG's post?
Older knobs have likely seen a lot action and I'm sure they will all stop working eventually

I seem to have sorted it! I accidentally pulled the wire off of the ignitor box that goes to the electrode and it started clicking! When I put it back it stopped! It seems if you put the terminal witching a few millimetres it will jump to the wire and then spark at the other end!! Don't really understand it but it works!!!
