1.9 petrol head stud and nuts

Post by mshaw1980 »

Hi everyone

Just stripped my engine down and found one of the conrod journals badly pitted, hence the horrendous knocking. I have done an engine rebuild before but not on a boxer so in unfamiliar territory. Just wondered, do all of the head studs and nuts need to be replaced or are they reusable ? I know my conrod bolts need changing but not sure about the head studs.

Cheers

only if they are reduced by rust otherwise reuse.
Can't get conrod stretch bolts so have to use the early non stretch type at the moment.
