almost 12months ago to the week. (9th sept) mt conversion was finished... Has performed faultlessly, best money I ever spent on the van ... Today I fitted one of those tuning gadgets that I won on eBay this one is called "DRAGON"
Has made a huge difference... But now with a boot full the clutch slips !!! What warranty is on Sachs clutches ??
Will the gadget make a warranty void ... Will the fact that it's a conversion effect a claim ???

You probably need to check with him to see what you got in there. If it's using 1.6 diesel stuff it's not gonna last.

Ideal setup would be tdi flywheel part number 037105273c, Sachs tdi clutch and pressure plate, tdi input shaft, and tdi starter adapter

as everyone hopefully now knows; 215mm clutch in a TDi only has something like a 15-20k mile life instead of 60k as it should have
note to fit the TDi input shaft to a difflock syncro gearbox requires the diferential to be loosened in the case and then put back in the correct place; failure to do so will cause seriously expensive damage to crown and pinionand/or damage to the mainshaft bearing so a 'to budget' engine conversion will leave well alone, and thus no gearbox upgrades or warranty issues, and if converting petrol to diesel will simply cut the input shaft down by the required 12mm, with an angle grinder, so care skill and dexterity are required but no parts changes other than a diesel bellhousing
If you don't want to go the whole hog you can use a wbx friction plate with the original input shaft and the tdI flywheel and clutch as a hybrid, probably good for 50k miles, RJES sells the wbx friction plate on its own
remember TDi flywheel means TDi starter and adapter or modified TDi flywheel and JX starter so this is not a no cost upgrade but if done at time of original installation utilising the donor vehicle to its max is the cheapest way of getting it right first time

My TDi is starting to slip, started to go about 50 miles from the south coast, in the middle of a 780 mile round trip. Managed to nurse it home just taking it easy, was still capable of topping 75-80 on the flat. Could be something to do with boxing in the intercooler too as it wasn't very effective previously.
Mine has the flywheel/clutch from an A4, if I remember right it had about 160k on the clocks. The friction plate looked good when it went in so I'm concerned that it may have gotten 'infected' with oil which is leaking from the Diff flange. It could also be that the pressure plate wasn't replaced or has simply weakened with time and heat.
Luckily I scored a brand new AFN friction plate, pressure plate and release bearing for pennies from some guy on a local facebook selling group so that's possibly going in tomorrow
