Need to remove my petrol tank and have seen a couple of you tube videos that seem quite simple but they have the van up on a lift. They remove the supporting brackets by unbolting one side and swinging down to unclip from the other.
Question is - is there enough room when on axle stands (not lift) to swing the bracket down and remove petrol tank ?

Re: droping petrol tank
Yup, I also replaced my tank with just two axle stands up front.
Check over the full length of the front to back water pipes and hoses and renew if needed. Probably a good time to replace all the fuel hoses and fuel filter too unless you have done so already in the last few years. I also replaced all the bungs and grommits on the fuel tank and fitted new breather pipes. Also clean and treat any rusty areas you find. I removed the tank support arms and the spare wheel cradle and painted both with rustoleum.

Re: droping petrol tank
I've dropped my tank to locate a leak! I'm also replacing breather hoses, bungs, repainting the top of the tank and rinsing the tank through whilst I'm at it. Can anyone recommend any other tasks whilst it is out? The coolant pipes are copper and look okay.
Is it easiest to run a new positive power cable from alternator to the headlights whilst it is out?
Thanks,
Josh

Re: droping petrol tank
I dropped my tank with just axle stands on the rear. Definitely original suspension height here! There's some bits of rust on the chassis you can probably get at now. Also brake and clutch pipe work. I'd say running anything is easier when it's out
