Wiper speed missing

Post by TotalCampingIre »

Hi all,
So I had to replace my windscreen wiper switch after some dick tried to hot wire my van and smashed it up in the process, anyway replaced the switch with one from vw heritage. I used have 3 speeds but now I only have 2 normal and really fast but I want to replace really fast with half speed, is there any way I can do this
Thanks
Dave

3 speeds?

The switch smply connects the resistors or the wash/delay relay to the motor, giving you (from the off position)
Down for delay.
Up one for off.
Up again for slow
Up again for fast.
That's it.
If the delay relay isn't plugged in properly or has been damaged then it can give odd symptoms IME.

If you replace the intermittent wipe relay 19 with a 99 then you can vary the delay length, minimum delay would come close to what you are after. You move the stalk down to intermittent position, then off and on again at desired delay time. (Sorry about poor description)

Is the white plastic stopper that needs to be removed for 3 speeds still there?

Like Jeff says. If it's new it may have the white v shaped stopper?
And it's much more than three speeds as the intermittent is adjustable ;)
