Textured paint for dash?
I may have asked this before...
Anyone know of a reasonable match for the textured paint used on the dash panel?
I think its a plastic paint, judging by how it smelled when drilling and cutting holes.
I would describe it as a "sputter" finish.

Forgot about Frost Restoration. Was hoping for local factors rattlecan rather than mail order lottery.

Mine is all scuffed up so I was going to get the whole thing grit blasted clean and then primer it and use rustoleum satin.

I've used Rustoleum textured spray paint before on various things, they have quite a good range.

Have previously used plastikote textured paint then satin black over the top. Get enough coats on top of the textured and it looks near as damn it factory.
However, they appear to have changed their range and names since I did it last. The one I used was the mottled granite type finish that they use on hospital corridors etc. black satin over the top made it right colour and rounded the edges of the texture off perfectly.
Unless I am being blind, they have loads of fancy names and finishes listed but not the one I used.

I saw that stone effect stuff in a local paint shop and had a look.... seems a pretty rough almost sandpapery texture but as you say maybe with a couple of coats of black satin on top it would be good.

A tickle with 1200 will knock the high spots off ready for blacking with satin.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?
