Starter Motor Belgium... model number

Post by jonnyshowbiz »

Hi Everyone,

We've made some progress and are now in Belgium, trying to buy a new starter motor, the people at the campsite have been brilliant but I need a model number for the starter, to buy a new one

The van is 1981 2.0l Aircooled.

I can't get under the van no axel stands, and not skinny enough to slide in there.....

No idea why the local parts people are being so picky about a part number but won't supply one without it... any idea where I could find this info would be brilliant

thanks loads :?

The VW part number is 091 911 023 or you can fit the later 091 911 023B which just has a longer battery cable mounting stud.

Cheers this parts guy
I'm asking him for a bague de demarreur - a starter bush, he asks if I can bring it in tomorrow for him to have a look, of course I can it will be in the gearbox but he is welcome to look..... also 250€ for the starter . thanks, if its not Bosch he can have it back...

Cheers for the offer, I'll give you a shout if we don't have any success here

On a different note Belguim beer is very strong, just have 75cl bottle at 9.5% :ok

hi Simon, we're in amberloup luxembourg side nr Bastogne, brilliant dutch run campsite in a tiny place called Tonny campingtonny.de
I've taken your good advice and now moved on to the Orval great stuff. Van all fixed today the top casing had snapped clearly the starter couldn't engage properly..
cost a fortune though...
Anyway the luxuries of stopping and starting whenever we want have return and we have revelled in this
