Is this right (Bumper)

Post by a1winchester »

Until I had my bumpers off for a re-spray, I never noticed this before.
(There's lots of things I never spotted until this exercise!)
This in a 1990 Autosleeper with the larger wrap around bumpers.
On some pics I have seen, the top of the bumper looks to be parallel with the bodywork swage. On my van, it's not. - See pic.

The question is - Is this right? The end of the bumper lines up ok with the wheel arch, but it looks like it could be wrong. If I try to lift the bumper return, it kicks out the connection with the back bumper.

I suppose the van could have been rear ended or been reversed into something. But maybe this is how it should be?

Any thoughts, anyone? :ok

Is it a single piece fibreglass one or an OEM (3 separate parts)?
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

That rules out my possibility of poor repros then. Better trust Ian's suggestion instead :ok

Looks like it might have something to do with the tow bar kicking the main bumper out of true, which then leads the end returns to run at an angle. I never worried (or even noticed) before, but now the van has been tidied up, I might need to do something about it.
Not #1 priority at the moment though.
