I'm assuming that the buzzing Black box will continue to charge the two batteries as long as 220v is present at the electric hook up? Just recommisioned mine after having a direct short across my Leisure Battery terminals and (luckily) only burning out a portion of the front westy loom and charge relay under seat when battery flap connected pos and neg .internal 1.6amp slow blow fuse inside BBB was also 'toast' :(
whilst i'm connected to the house mains the charger is providing 14.1v at the leisure battery presently which to a Luddite like me indicates it is working correctly?? as the batteries become charged the 'rate of charge ' will be reduced but how long is 'safe' to leave the 220volt connected with no current draw to any ancillaries?

Thanks Chris

As long as the voltage stays at 14.1 or less, you can leave it on as long as you like. Reason = when the battery(s) reach 14.1 volts, no more current will flow from the charger. Note also that on nearly all vehicles, the alternator produces a similar voltage in normal use, proving that it is no problem and will not over charge your battery(s).
