clutch fork seized after engine replacement

Post by stevie43_uk »

Hi all,

I'm at the end of my tether !

I've recently replaced my engine , new clutch and bearing - put it all back together. - bled the clutch and the pedal will not go all the way down !
Its like as if its catching on something - I must say the gearbox was open to the elements all winter and like a prat I didn't check if the fork moved freely before I put it all back together -
Is there any way I can unfree it without taking the gearbox out

Any advice greatly appreciated

Steve

Take heed. In recent memory I did a clutch change after a failed release bearing and despite fairly keen eyes, the broken inner sleeve of the bearing lay on the input shaft sleeve. As both were the same colour, it went unnoticed until I refitted gearbox and had no clutch movement at the arm - it had nowhere to go. Had that gearbox in and out FIVE times before it was spotted and even then only by feel.

Yeah it'll almost certainly have to come out. Is the clutch arm making contact with clutch servo?
