DJ lots of black smoke Help needed!

fitted new old AFM (thanks Craig), no change…… it wasn't that.
Putting dash back together to find something I can do right and noticed Black and yellow with yellow vw connector and black grafted on…??? Any thoughts?

Yee haaaaaaaa! Sorted, it wasn't any of the things I've replaced. In the end 3 of the wires from the AFM were cooked inside the black plastic casing at the back of the engine bay and where the plastic had broken down they were shorting out and massively confusing the ECU!

thanks for coming back with the info on what was wrong
only by checking the readings at the ecu plug end of the wiring can you find the wiring faults as you include the wiring in the measurements
