Best place for axle stands

Post by normal rules »

I am looking at doing some day maintenance inc gearbox oil change etc and wondered where the best place for axle stands are to support. Looks like there are a few options, inc chassis rails and jacking points. Any advice appreciated

There's been a thread on the Samba about this recently:

In the shed, you don't have an axle. :D

I put my axle stands on the outriggers. My 6 ton stands are just the right width to fit over them.

I see you have responded this way to several posts this guy has followed. Please excuse my ignorance but can you enlighten me on what you mean. I always thought spamming was some devious way of advertising but I can't see what this guy/gal/company is doing. I'm no computer expert.

I would guess its actually a spurious phishing spambot that sneaked under the radar.

The guy has posted on about a dozen threads and all of his messages say something generic along the lines of "great post thanks for the information" with zero forum related content, information or questions.

Some other forums require a certain number of posts before a user is able to advertise, so this spammer is basically getting his account to the point at which he expects to be able to go phishing in the for sale section.
