Power woes

Hi all recently I had twin dells fitted, all was great till fuel pump died, I've changed this and gears 1-3 seem okay but in 4th it's coughing and spluttering. If its taken out of gear and given full revs it revs then cuts for a second then gives full revs again. Any ideas? 2l cu air-cooled

Its going to be muck clogging something or the pump (new or not) isn't delivering enough fuel. I assume you've fitted mechanical pump rather than electric.

Thanks for reply. I have fitted Huco electronic low pressure as suggested when bought the carbs. From eurocarb. It almost sounds in 4th it's igniting in exhaust with a tingy sound. It does run better if I take out of gear hard rev it, it builds revs up drops then pucks up, will keep doing this.
