head Light Aim

Got an MOT on Saturday and trying to get ready for the big day!

I know my headlight aim is out, anybody now how to adjust them and how to get them where they should be?

You can get them set up at your local garage ofcourse but from experience, the equipment they use is often not that accurate. Depends on how vague your beam patterns are (Hellas are not good compared to modern reflector-based units) but if you can see the kicks, you should be able to get them absolutely spot on. Adjust, test on the road, adjust a bit more etc. You'll soon get it. Its a compromise between getting good illumination in front but not blinding drivers you're following or those in opposing lane. Bear in mind the MOT test on lights is only to prevent you blinding others rather than whether you can see properly or not which is why, personally, I subscribe to setting them up this way. I've got fairly quick at it now and they always pass.

I should add that there are no end of complicated methods shown online with tape measures and the like but they're very time consuming. This is by far the quickest and most accurate as its in the real world rather than on someones garage door.
