Hi
Last time I had van running it sounded like a bag of spanners. Not idling and generally rough.
I've topped up oil. Cleaned and trimmed the small breather pipes and it fired up straight away sounded quite smooth.
However, put it in 1st or crawler gear the revs just drop and just cuts out. Any ideas please

Re: revs dropping when pulling away
Hi. Having to do some detective work on this one. I guessed it's a Syncro from "1st or crawler" clue. Just had a look back at your earlier posts and found out it's a DG, and I see this problem's been ongoing since just after buying it. Have you been back to previous owner to ask the obvious questions?
By breather pipes do you mean the vac pipes? The split intake hose on the pancake won't be the cause, btw. It's most likely ignition related as it happens on both fuels, although it could also be an air leak.
Do you have metal shrouds on your plug leads? If so, i advise removing them. (I am removing them almost weekly from customer vans - not required and cause loads of spark leakage/misfire problems).
If you can't sort it, we are not too far away. I only work on T25s, and more WBXs than anything else, so shouldn't take much finding (ex-Syncro owner too so wouldn't mind having a butcher's).

Re: revs dropping when pulling away
Hi
Yes it's a syncro 1.9dg. Yeah since I have had it I've had similar problems with it cutting out at junctions as well as the break down in Bristol and since that it hasn't run the best tbh.
Yeah sorry meant vac pipes. The rubber section from the dizzy was really perished so I trimmed it down. I haven't changed plugs leads dizzy cap etc yet, but yes the ones on at the moment do have the metal shrouds so I'll remove them.
I do want to get it serviced and given the once over so hopefully I can pop over in the near future and you can have a nose lol.
Cheers neil

Re: revs dropping when pulling away
I've fitted new leads plugs dizzy and rotary arm. Still idling fine , but still won't pull off without high revs.
