Throttle valve stuck in fuel pump?
Help required please! I finally got my van started after it lying idle for over 4 years. It's a 1.9 diesel. The main problem was loads of air in the fuel system, I installed a priming bulb and eventually got the engine started. I then found that the throttle did not work, the engine is running at about 2500 RPM but the throttle is ineffective. The cable is OK, the assembly on top of the fuel pump is moving freely but nothing changes the RPM. (Except giving the priming bulb a squeeze whilst running). I assume there's some kind of throttle valve inside the fuel pump which has stuck through lack of use/drying out. I am loth to dismantle the fuel pump as I have no experience of this and I've been told it's a specialist job! Any suggestions gratefully received! Cheers.

Re: Throttle valve stuck in fuel pump?
Try this with the engine off;turn the throttle lever to maximum and tap the injection pump with a small screwdriver (the handle end)tap on the upper part near the fuel cutoff solinoid.
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]
