I changed my '83 leads and went for DIN. Pretty sure they looked like yours, but I'd wait for a second opinion before placing an order (esp. as '84 is on the crossover)..
Im going to change my HT leads - brickwerks stock two sets - one for din type connections , one for pin type connections.
My van is 84 so Im guessing I need the pin types? Please could someone double check by looking at the badly taken picture below.

It's ultimately dependant on your coil, if the coil is DIN then your lead set should be the same.
The picture shows pin type, which were fitted to later engines
Can't remember how I did it now but switched mine so I can just buy the regular Beetle/T2 dizzy cap. It was pin before. I just found more places stocked those. Pretty sure I managed to shove the pin in a din dizzy and it held fine.

Just a quick question, the set from Simon Baxter has a metal shield around the spark plug end. Whilst Im guessing the shield is useful for helping stop interference on your radio - they dont seem to fit as tightly.
