Tried to start the van the other day it has been off the road for a bit whilst working on it. Battery is good but when I turn the key nothing happens not even clicking from for starter motor. Did check some of the wires to the starter and they look ok?
Any advice appreciated

Silly question but the work you have been doing on the van wouldn't have any bearing on your issue would it? You haven't disturbed the earth strap have you? Do any of the other electrics work that aren't tied to your leisure battery (if you have one)? I'm not very good with electrics so hopefully somebody that is a little more knowledgeable should pipe up soonLaws1974 wrote:Tried to start the van the other day it has been off the road for a bit whilst working on it. Hi
I do not have leisure battery fitted and I will get under the van tonight and have a look at the earth straps.
Thanks

Have you tried taking the ignition switch off the barrel & turning it with a screwdriver? Sometimes the switch doesn't turn enough when parts are worn.

Give the starter motor a persuasive knock with a hammer. It might need a little encouragement to remember what it's meant to do after being left for a while.
I appreciate that you say the battery is good but have you stuck some jump leads on to give it a boost and a bit more gumph? It might be an amperage thing. You say you've checked the starter wires- the one that throws the solenoid can get a bit crusty.

Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Not surprising electricity was having a job getting through by the looks of that. Glad to hear you're all sorted .
