Our van currently has a louvered window in the sliding door. The glass is not factory fitted as the van is a panel van conversion.
I want to remove the louver and replace with plain glass.
My question is... Why do people say their glass wont fit as it will only fit factory fitted vans ?
I would have thought a lump of glass is a lump of glass.

Re: Replacing the sliding door glass
converted panel vans windows are not always the same size as the factory glass, some are - autohomes used VW factory flat glass when they cut the holes into the panels or at least they did on the Mustard Pot, but other converters may not have. On early vans with the louvre windows some of the windows were a carry over from the bay hence they look slightly small in the side of T3 and home brew conversions may well have glass fitted from a variety of sources
