Very proud new owner of a 1984 Westfalia. Selling my T4 in about 20mins! Leaving the fast lane and doing it properly!!
Two problems...........Chap who owned it before has had a go at fitting a central locking kit. Drivers door doesn't open on the key so i have to climb through the back or passenger door. No bother but will it be easier to just buy a new lock and handle and have a separate key or has anyone fitted one of these before?
The other one is the fan doesn't work. Flick the switch and it blows the fuse. I've a new fan and switch but tried the new switch first. It isn't that! I understand the fan is a so and so to fit. So much so that it's even bonded in. Is that right?

I was a little daunted at taking the dash out but it really is fairly straight forward and yes, it took the best part of the day to do it.set aside a day to do it.

As has already been said on other topic threads it gives you the opportunity to check things that are going on behind there, give a clean up and sort out any electrical glitches etc. Having done it once, I whipped the dash out the other weekend to install some speakers and had it all done and dusted within a few hours. It's easier second time around.
