AAZ thermostat

Hi

The thermostat in my AAZ doesn't look like the ones in pictures (photos and tech drawings) it has its own rubber seal attached. So when I installed into new water pump housing, I left out the o ring. It didn't have one when I took it out but was entrenched in some kind of bodge.

I test fit with the o ring and that seemed to stand out miles

Now I've re installed it leaks. Do I need combination of different thermostat and o ring that came with new housing?

This is fixed with new stat and seal. And some cursing...
