Fuel consumption for type 4 engine

Hi I am trying to find out what sort of fuel consumption I can expect from my type4 engine and if it is worth changing from twin carbs to single twin choke Webber

I get aout 20 to 25 mpg with an auto box

We get 20mpg ish on a 1982 Devon pop-top, 90k miles,running twin solex brosal after market carbs, also an auto.

16 - 22 mpg.
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)
