Hi

I would definately say yes, the ones I've got came with convex mirrors so you can see more anyway, and there is also room on the mirror arms to fit additional mirrors for over taking / blind spot

The Syncro mirrors are much better than the standard mirrors. They're bigger overall plus they're slightly convex so you get a much better view. They also fold back flat to the van when you're parked and they don't drift out of position at speeds over 50mph! Even though they're pricey they're well worth the money imho.

There are also some threads on here about alternative options to upgrade the standard mirrors using adapted Landrover mirrors or the mirrors from an LT, which might not give quite as good a result but which are more cost effective.

Syncro mirrors are better, but I'd like them even more if the passenger side was more convex

I fitted the Defender mirrors standard flat mirror. Very sturdy stay put, easily folded in if you need it (without messing the position up) much cheaper and they sit further out which gives a better view.
