Hello,
Following on from minor MOT work now working through usual things. Propex had a sticky fan so was stripped and cleaned, fridge removed, cleaned, hoovered and rotated through 360 over two days, both now working great. Thanks to forum members past threads again.
Tomorrow evenings job is the water tank, pump has now been stripped and reassembled and working fine, tank was about to be 'Puricleaned' but when I tried to fill to brim to catch all the bugs etc water poured from top of tank somewhere and couldn't be filled to the brim. Inlet and outlet to pump (it's a separate Shurflo unit) are secure.
Is there a seal on top, either where water level sender unit is attached or another opening, if not I guess I have a leak/rupture. If tank is to be removed would I be correct in assuming top of fixings are underneath (well stuck down) carpet.
Many thanks for any help.

Re: Autosleeper Water Tank Leak?
I have exactly the same issue on my Autosleeper Trident, water tank is fine but when I fill it to the brim it leaks over the top. (Have a fan issue with my Propex heater too guessing you removed the bottom panel inside the food compartment to get to it?) Anyway with regard to the tank of course my first thought was that there must be an overflow or something similar. Hopefully someone will have the answer.

Re: Autosleeper Water Tank Leak?
Water tanks should have a breather hole at the top - same as fuel tanks. If it is externally mounted it doesn't always have a pipe on it but if internal it should have one otherwise you will fill up the van. It is an easy way to tell when it is full! Without the breather you will get blowback on filling.

Re: Autosleeper Water Tank Leak?
In the instructions for the Autosleeper trident available here http://autosleeper.vwt25camper.info/htm ... _down.html it say as oldiebut goodie said above: the water tank is fitted wtih tw breather; when the tank is full water will escape through these breather and this should give no cause for concern.
It's a good way to know when the tank is full!

Re: Autosleeper Water Tank Leak?
Brillant as usual guys, thanks very much

Re: Autosleeper Water Tank Leak?
Thanks to all again, great link from JackE.
Quick update (may help someone) - I removed the tank this afternoon, no need to lift carpet as hanging bolts hung from chassis were used (I have no idea what they're really called). On top of tank was indeed a breather and also a large central lidded part where fill level sender unit had been fixed. Around this fixing was some pretty awful smelling sticky black stuff that smelt like bitumen, this has come away from the lid and had left a big hole. Re the bitumen I had smelt this previously and had searched for a petrol/oil leak, with the tank removed the smell has gone.
Now given I don't want that stuff near my water I've decided to replace whole system with tank from GFG Plastics that comes with fittings and I'll renew all hoses. I did have the external/internal tank debate (with myself) but will stick to external as the likelihood of winter use is minimal and I'd prefer to keep internal storage space. Cost will be around £100 all in.
For Wiredone2 - I could only see one pipe from Propex heater underneath van, turns out the inlet breather exits into chassis rail so couldn't blow air into both pipes (another fix I saw on the forum). I removed shelves, removed bottom cover (one with heater vents) by undoing two side screws located inside and one through bottom of cover accessed by removing bottom vent. Heater came out easily, four screws into base, undid gas connection, undid 12 volt connection. A very easy fix and if I can do it etc etc. Removed heater cover and hoovered everything, the rear fan had gunk all over the spindle, worked a cloth in and give it a good clean, tiny drop of lubricant, rebuilt and worked first time on fan and heater/fan. I have pics but no idea how to post them!
Thanks to all.
