Pressure Cap Question

Post by Ant-t »

I've recently completed a coolant change, I've checked the coolant level in the header tank for the last two mornings and it needs topping up but the expansion tank behind the flap still has fluid over the max level. My pressure cap is the original silver twist on type, so my question is, is it time to replace this cap for a new blue one or should I just keep topping up until the system is fully bleed?

If give it a while before you start to worry. Don't you have to change the whole tank if you 'upgrade' to the darlek cap?

Ok, I'll keep topping up as pretty sure that there are no leaks in the system, yes I think that you do need to upgrade the tank for a newer cap as its a screw on rather than a bayonet type fitting
