Hey, I think you messaged me on youtube.

I was thinking, if you really struggle with it then you could send me the loom and I can try and make sense of it for you. I could try it on my engine but only if it has the same connectors, i.e. the round one for the sensors etc and the 12 pin one for the pump.

What are you doing for clocks? New electronic ones or sticking with old mechanical ones? If you're going with electronic then it adds a fair bit of complexity.

Cheers, Dave.

Haha, or send it to me as I can do those in my sleep.. almost !

And the late electric clocks are pretty simple too. Link

Hey Boonflap,

Well, it's not really as easy as just attaching a couple of wires, you have to make sure all the grounds are grounded and all the +ve's go to the right places (i.e. Ignition or Battery direct).

Also you have your Immobiliser to contend with. This isn't in the Clocks, its actually in the Engine ECU itself, you need to turn it off by opening up the ECU and changing some Data in one of the little chips on the board. I can do this for you if you need. You can also get an immobiliser 'defeat' board from ebay which simulates the original VW immobiliser and allows you to start the engine, that's about £10.

If you try and use it without dealing with the immo then it either wont run at all or will fail after a few seconds. Which ECU do you have? 1 long square plug (MSA15) or 2x plugs (EDC15)?

I have the circuit diagrams laying about somewhere but they are just the original Audi Drawings which I used to trace the wires from the ECU and clocks. It sounds Daunting but it's not that bad, Your engine will run fine without the clocks but only once the Immo is dealt with.

Send me your Email address in a PM and I'll send you the PDF with the wiring diagram, it won't allow me to upload it here as it's too big.
