What is this under my van?

Whilst I had my van on some axel stands last week , messing about with a radiator

I saw this



Please excuse my ignorance - but does anyone know what it is?

Whereabouts is it?

its the brake bias valve, it limits pressure to the rear brakes on heavy breaking when all the weight shifts to the front. (a light rear would lock up otherwise)
