non VW,conservatories
I want to re apply mastic round our bedroom window and will have stand on the roof of our conservatory,it is a polycarbonate roofed one,are they safe to stand on?,no chance of using a ladder

you can stand on them but if it was me i would put a plank of some sort down first just to be safe

As said, I used a sheet of loft flooring to stand on when painting the walls.much safer than standing on the roof.

Hi cant you do it from the inside? I do this a lot, easier to just take one or both of the openers out and do lt that way, wood or plastic easy to take off, with plastic you need 2 one to hold whilst you take the screws out to stop it falling. Dicey going on a polycarbonate roof.

Sounds like a job for 'ladders & string'. Hard to tell without a pic.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

Aren't those polycarb sheets fairly easy to remove, the ones I have seen are held in with a plastic cover that clips into the frame. If you removed a panel you could get a ladder up to the window.

actually managed to take off the roof vent and got a long ladder to poke up through and it was under the window so I did it that way,the hardest part was getting a long ladder through the conservatory with breaking anything
