Hey, I am new to the forum, but have found tons of very useful info to guide me on my first T25 journey. I've had T2's and T4's before and am very excited to own my first T25 My question is regarding the second water pump (i.e. the electric water pump). I have a 1990 van with a 1.9 diesel (1y) engine fitted, I have scouted the engine bay and beyond, along all coolant hoses, but no electric water pump....?? The van doesn't overheat or anything but given the size of the cooling capacity surely there should be one....?? Anyone help would be greaty appreciated.... cheers!!
Not used on NA diesels - were fitted to the turbo JX engined model. Coolant capacity doesn't come into it, it was to remove excess heat that the turbo had generated and even out the cooling down of the whole engine.
Does anyone know how or when the Pump is used? I seem to recall that it's on it's own temperature sensor, I can't recall ever hearing mine run though. In the coming weeks I'll be installing an AFN in place of the JX so I wonder if I'm going to be pulling out vital parts of the electric pump system. The AFN is essentially completely 'standalone' so not much will remain of the JX systems.
Hi Dave, yes the pump is controlled by a thermal switch 104c early 107c late,it also comes on when the ignition switch is turned to the starter engauge position .
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]
