Radius arm stuck
Thought I'd treat myself to some new ploy bushes for the radius arms for my late T25 crewcab, knew it might be a mission to get the rods out but the first one was ok, soaked them in penetrating spray before, plentiful heat and to my relief the first one came out no worries. However the second one won't budge, tried using a 14mm socket on the outer end but no good, 27mm nut which joins to suspension is now mangaled and cant get a spanner on it. Also the rod has worn through the circular hole where the spacer sits so it's gotta come out and replace the rod. Any ideas how I can get this arm out? Did think I could cut on the threaded outer end and wind two bolts together like you were taking a stud out, any help would be appreciated.

Re: Radius arm stuck
I used a hefty pair of Stilsons on mine with a scaffold tube extension. Favourite trick of mine for undoing the 32mm nuts on rusty tank top hatches on ships - the more you pull the tighter they grip.

Did try stilsons but a bit tricky on the l/h one, couldn't really get a good grip, scaffold pole already in use. Will try again today, thanks dude

Re: Radius arm stuck
Done done done, thank god for that. Cut the arm and threaded a two bolts together really tight, plenty more heat and she gave in. Thought it was going to need drilling. Unfortunately there's now a elongated hole where the bushes go, the tube spacer has worn right through and also worn the arm, ordered a new arm and now need to figure out how to repair the hole. Never quite ends

Re: Radius arm stuck
Looks pretty common, lucky other side is ok. Thanks for the link, would be great if someone sold a repair section for this. Unfortunately no access to a welder at the mo, thinking cap is on!
Cheers

Re: Radius arm stuck
Trying to do same job,
first side easy.
Second side nuts off, outer bush out but arm seized to underside of ball joint.
Any tips other than brute force?
Cheers.

Re: Radius arm stuck
What... we can now use cider instead of expensive Plus-Gas?

Re: Radius arm stuck
I know someone who worked for a whole weekend rying to undo radius arm bolts on an LT, only to eventually realise that they did up the other way. ie. He was trying to turn the nut the wrong way. Is that correct?

Re: Radius arm stuck
I think the cider made the difference. Plus gas alone didn't seem to work too well.
