speedo not working

Can anyone help...speedo milage counter and odometer just stopped working but mph still working. ...1991 t3 petrol 64000 miles ..advice needed. ..Thanks panal

Cogs slipped on the spindle most likely. Fixable once you take the speedo out. Plenty of info on here and the samba.com

Grab the binnacle at the back and pull
Once off you'll see the back of the clocks.

Removal off the clock is tricky.
Be very careful of the circuitry on the plastic sheet.
It's old and likely to turn to dust. :D

Got the clock out of the van . How do I get at the dodgy cogs, and do I have to take the face off the front. does that entail prising the hand off it . I'm a bit frightened of breaking something! can anyone advise please ...Thanks panal.

Put your drill in the cable socket
If the clock works then the fault lies elsewhere.
Far easier to buy a used clock than strip it

I got the clock off without too much trouble the scary bit was prising off the blue ribbon and pcb.ill take your advice and get another clock. Looking at all the cogs I wouldn't have a clue what to do. Thanks again kev.
