No way is that matrix worth £100+ :shock:

Searching is easy - finding the right part is more difficult!! :D
Both the wrong part I'm afraid - seems that a lot if places are selling the rear heater matrix as if it were the front dash matrix !! But I agree - def not worth +£100 but struggling to find anywhere that selling it cheaper (or at all)

People keep on linking the wrong parts... Wether the front matrix is worth £100+ or not, the fact of the matter is that is what they cost

Sounds bearable. I wonder if theres a close enough match from something else as the going rate for popular ones is £30. The only reason the T25 is expensive is because not many fail so they only do limited runs each time. That makes them more expensive to produce as they have to be tooled up for a run. Being a skinflint, I'd be measuring one and looking for one of similar size that I could adapt the hoses to. The principles are simple - its just a rad.

Aha - thought someone would have chased this one: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=438042" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The dimensions are in there and you should be able to source a close replacement. Either that or dig deep. :D

Mmmmm - interesting - it's a fair bit shorter in length (by about 110mm) but that might give enough room in the heater box to get some converter in there to make the 18mm input/outputs to the 5/8" needed for the van pipes ...... would be an interesting project ...... but I think I'll stick with the £80 option at the moment but would be nice if someone tried it out for reference ..... anyone????
(Also - reading that thread those Samba guys are quite aggressive aren't they!!! :twisted: :twisted: )

Just to update on this post - the heater core finally arrived (after a bit of a battle with UPS and my slightly odd address!! :twisted: )
As you can see it's a perfect fit .....

....... and despite being sent from Germany it would seem that it's actually a UK product!!

So a bit of a success all round!! :ok :ok
