DJ 112 Timing Procedure

Post by rs251 »

Hi all,

First DJ 112 engine ever in my hands, running pretty well but a little sluggish and want to check the ignition timing is correct. This one is DigiJet injection, originally from Finland. No cat and all original spec parts.

The shop manual I have says all dual-vacuum advance distributors should be timed to 5 deg ATDC, with module connectors disconnected from idle box, then connected together. But the Brickworks wiki link says it should be 10 deg BTDC which is a lot different, more like a MV Digifant engine would be.

Would love to hear how others have set theirs up.

Many thanks,

Barry

Originally 10 deg BTDC if you ran it on 4 star or now super unleaded. 5 deg BTDC if you run it on regular unleaded.
