speedo cable??

hi all of a sudden my speedo packs up first assumption is the cable so i check the cable and all is intact so the disconnected end ( the hub end) i turn the cable with drill in reverse and speedo registers so finally connect everything back up and hey presto no speedo can anybody help me please?
bye the way the square in the hub nut cover is ok

So the E clip is ok too?

How fast was the drill before registering?

Mine conked out and it was just that circlip thing, 50p part so hopefully its just that.

Mine was the nut cover hole that had rounded. - I assumed it was the cable. So I have a spare now!

had your circlip come off matt ? mine was intact but ill try a new one
