mystery wire

Post by vanhatter »

Hi all,

Just noticed this wire (circled) was disconnected from its spade connector on the engine, does anyone know what it does? Have reconnected it now with new connector, no idea how long it was unattached.

That would make sense as my dash temp gauge hasn't been working recently!

Just replace a female spade connector on and push it back onto that 'nub'. After cleaning it all up of course ;-)

The 'female spade' slides on from the side (forked).

Thanks both. Wire had corroded enough to fall of the spade, which was also looking a bit sad. I stripped the wire back and put a new spade on. Will see if it sorted the thermostat issue once I've got the van running again (pending starter motor clean up / sorting spark plugs / ht cables out).
