Toast Disaster!

Post by randamonia »

Desperately wanted toast last week while away only to find my grill not working....grrr!!

The burner lit fine but just no heat to/from the mesh. Not had a chance to look at it yet but any pointers?

It's an Automhomes Komet....are spares generally available does anyone know?

Thanks a lot

No idea, but if you are desperate you can quickly dry toast bread in a frying pan. Works every time!

And while the frying pan's hot you may as well chuck a couple of sausages in with an egg or two

Do you mean that the burners on the grill lit but the flame was insufficient to reach the radiating mesh?
If so, low gas pressure or jet is partially blocked. Unlikely to be low pressure if hob burners are working fine.

Thanks for the suggestions folks....I especially like the Sausages idea :-)

That toaster from Campervanculture looks like a good piece of kit and much better than the once that fit on a gas burner with the toast upright. I'd still like to get the grill working though.

To answer your question Oldiebut Goodie, yes that's exactly the situation. The hob works fine but the grill burners take a bit to light and then won't extend to the mesh. I guess I should take it apart and see if I can clean the jets before looking for a replacement.

Hmm.......off for some toast now I think.
