Injectors replacment
Hello, where is a good place to replace my injectors from? I was planning on getting them from GoWesty but they are having problems with the Manufacture... Do any of these fit the bill? http://www.vwspeedshop.com/home.php?cat=423 I've got a 2.1i DJ.

Re: Injectors replacment
I seem to remember that theres another company that manufacture them that are highly praised in the States and at least half the price. You can get them here but its been some while since I read it so don't remember makers name. Suggest you trawl a little deeper on the net before you part with your cash.

Re: Injectors replacment
Have you thought about getting them cleaned, tested, rebuilt at local ASNU franchise?

Re: Injectors replacment
a quick ebay.com search for vanagon injector found lots of options eg
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Standard-FJ6-Fu ... da&vxp=mtr
the original ones are still available from vw classicparts but they only have half the kit (originally one kit for left side one for right side complete with the fuel hoses and heat shield and fuel rails) so you'd buy 2 of the kits they have to get all 4 injectors but you wouldn't have all the correct length fuel hoses
having them cleaned and serviced makes sense, I have had good results with the place in Hull
complete service kits available on line

What Aidan said ^^^^^^. HGL Motors in Hull HU5 1EE. They do a really good job. The best thing we've ever done to our motor. You get a print out of before and after plus the old bits back that they replace. Posted them on a Monday morning and had them back on the Wednesday. All for £70 IIRC.

Interesting thanks for the info guys! I'lll be giving HGL Motors a call I think!
@Pete, out of interest why is it the best thing you've done to your motor?

Re: Injectors replacment
I posted mine yesterday to HGL. The price has gone up a bit but hopefully will be worth it.

Re: Injectors replacment
This is good info. I also have a need for good quality recon injectors, got a few damaged ones where the plastic bits have cracked or melted... I guess the solenoid is the high-value bit that they recover?

Because mine were pretty bad and consequently had an effect on power and particularly smoothness of power delivery. The change for the better was significant.
I've got a spare set here to go up to HGL for the engine silverbullet is going to build.

Re: Injectors replacment
getting them "rebuilt" is an urban myth, all they do is clean them.
i'd rather spend a few quid more and get 4 NEW ones.
avoid the "cult" hype with the term VW BUS and look for VOLVO 240 injectors. there's 2 types but it should be obvious which one is the same as a wasserboxer.
i posted about this already a year ago.

Re: Injectors replacment
240 injector has different hose connection which you would have to replace from what I can see

Re: Injectors replacment
All the google images for Volvo 240 show later O-ring type injectors. The only ones I can think of with a crimped-on rubber hose tail are Jag V12/Rover V8 "grey" injectors.

the ones i ordered from FCP euro in the USA last year came with hose crimped on, but it was too long so i cut a bit off.
hard work?
