Hi,
I have an Autohomes Kamper. The one with a solid sided, straight up, pop top. The roof is in poor condition and needs replacing. Anyway I found out that there is a place that can replace it (Autovans) but they only replace the top cap and charge the wrong side of 2 grand for the privilege! So the question is, has anyone replaced one of these for a side opening or front opening pop top? We are happy to change from solid sides to canvas. The current top is made from Ply! So would like to change to GRP. Hope this makes sense. Cheers.

Re: Replacing an Autohomes pop top roof
Most of us who have Autohomes Kampers have had to deal with this problem.
My own solution was to make a lighter, more streamlined roof with a fibreglass cap and (different) solid sides. It was a lot of work, and once you've built one yourself, a price of 2 grand starts to look more reasonable. While I was casting the cap I made a spare which is available for sale, and you would be welcome to come and have a look at the new roof on the van if you would like to.
A new roof with canvas would be easier, but the the solid sides are nice, and provide a bit of insulation that the canvas doesn't.
