Windscreen Removal

Post by Alloa »

Hi Folks,

Stripping down for a respray and need to take the windscreen out. Is it worth pressing it out like normal or best cutting the seal to avoid damaging the glass ?

Seal 40 quid screen 170 ?

Cheers

Seconded, but put a good seal in to replace it. I know a few try to save a tenner by fitting a JK one but they end up regretting it not only cosmetically but due to the struggle getting it to fit. VWEmporium are good for genuine seals and you can fit those single-handed (well I can).

A guy on ebay does new blue top tinted screens for under £80

£30.25 for a new seal from VWEmporium. Consider it cut.

Just that balance between doing the job properly and spending money needlessly.

Cheers for the advice

I thought it was a Bently given that you drop the box whenever you mess with any of the glass. :D
