Anyone with skills fancy helping me fit a starter bush?

So my van has started not firing up every time I turn the key and I've been reliably informed it probably needs a new starter bush fitting! I've looked up in principal how to do this but am still a little worried as I haven't turned a spanner in anger for twenty years!
So I was wondering if there is anyone within an hour or so of Oxford I could come to to help me sort it? I'm happy to supply beer in return for your expertise!
I'm sure some of you will say why not just get a garage to do it. Two reasons. One. They don't necessarily know about T25's and two. how am I going to lean how to do stuff myself by putting it in the garage.

what other checks have you done to prove it's not connections, earth cable, low trigger voltage, duff battery?

What checks - remove all earths,connections, etc and cleaned them up or just looked at them?

Symptoms of a worn bush afaik is slow cranking, it does not wear over night so has this been giving slow cranking for some time or happened suddenly?

In fact what are the symptoms?

I've only had her two months but since I've had her she does, at times, turn over slowly. But now every so often you turn the key, ignition lights come on but doesn't turn over at all.

How old IS this starter motor?

So are you also saying at times it spins over ok and starts?
if you have onlt had it 2 months I don't suppose you know how old the starter is

reads a bit electrical to me if it's intermittent.
there's a braided cable that runs from the solenoid to the starter, is it rusted?

Damn. Forgotten that braided one. Chickencoop had a 2.0 that had very intermittent starting until in the end it wouldn't go. Yep - last strands of that cable.

Does sound like starter needs to come off and checked. Just so noone does it - NEVER run a starter off a battery on the ground or on a bench.

Mine had disappeared completely! Had to get a new starter after that one. About £110 from a local auto elec guy...

I have to say I've got the practical skills of a one armed chimp but managed to do mine. I read the wiki a few times and got everything together that i might need. No need to raise the van other than parking on a kerb. Hardest bit was getting the old one out but I used the fattest easy out from this set http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laser-0295-Scre ... Getting the new one in was a mix of belief and ignorance.

It didn't fix the sluggish start totally but helped so I moved onto Covkid's wiring upgrade and that has been brilliant. Might be worth doing this before replacing bush. It's easier but a bit pricier.
