Stupid battery question!

Post by Van Camperveld »

Hi all
I've decided to invest in a new leisure battery and have taken out the old one - which was dead. Have only had the van a couple of weeks so am still finding my way around it.
The old one measured approx 26cm long, 17cm wide and 21cm high. Have had a look at the battery box and can only get a battery that's approx 28-29cm long in there - 30cm+ would just be too tight (I guess it's a custom fit).
I have had a look at the recommended alpha batteries on eBay but whilst they are fine height wise, they all seem to be 30+ cm long.
Does anyone know of any decent leisure batteries that would fit my needs - and more importantly the battery holder :)
Many thanks
Dave

Could really do with a WIKI for this as this question comes up more times than "what oil should I use".

Does it have to go in that battery slot? If you relocate the leisure battery (not that hard) say inside a cupboard, it won't matter about dimensions and you're far more likely to get a better deal.

Rather than start another thread, search for "leisure battery size" in search box - theres tons of info on battery sizes.

Thanks for the quick reply CovKid - I asked the oil question last time
To be honest I'd rather use the designated space as it would just become dead space and I'd lose a cupboard.
Doesn't need to be a huge battery - just enough for lights mainly plus maybe charging phones/tablets.
I did try to use the search function but had no joy.
Cheers
