WBX rocker cover

Post by dsmith1974 »

What's the best way to get the rocker cover off a WBX? Haynes says to remove the spring clip, so does that mean prise both ends out with a screwdriver or use the middle.

Is it best to fit the new cover from above or below. Book says below, but above looks like it would be easier to me.

Clump it with a hide mallet, straight down onto the clip, it will swing out of the way. Then use a broad flat screwdriver at one end to break the seal.
Swing clip upwards before replacing the cover and again, a firm tap and the clip will lock down.
Assuming that the ends arent rotten/siezed and snap off in the heads...
