Hi there
Just refitting my tintop and one thing that is bugging me is the headlining
Although in pretty good nick and fairly clean it has sagged in areas.
I was wondering it is possible line it out with the stretch type felt lining that I am using for the side panel and other interior tin work.
Also please could somebody advice on the best rock n roll bed to be looking at? I am needing a 3/4 width

Re: Lining Tintop Roof
Some of the latter vans have a fiberglass roof lining which has insulation above
I don't know how available they are but may be an idea.

Thanks for the help guys
Would it be possible to stick the lining material/insulation direct to the roof so it shows the contours?
How would you attach the 3mm ply to roof.

Re: Lining Tintop Roof
my van has a 3mm ply roof lined with material.
It's screwed to a wooded strip down the sides ( wooded strip then screws to van) and splits in the middle where it's screwed to the cross member. All done before I got it but done well and looks good.
Can get a pic if you need

That would be great itchy if you could get a pix
Does anybody know if the wooden strip is already there under the OEM headlining?

No you have to add the wooden strip, you can just see it in one pic where they didn't get the shape just right.
It's surprisingly hard to photograph a roof

Re: Lining Tintop Roof
Not sure what you mean?
as said a wooden bead is what is used.
Maybe 12mm to 18mm square, screwed to metalwork along van front to back each side, then 3mm ply is screwed to wooden bead
Side to side, at front, in middle, and at back, the 3mm ply is screwed to the van, Small self tapper holes need to be drilled to do this.
Disclaimer. This is not the only way to do this, I didn't do this, its how somebody else did this on my van.
