Are there any new gadgets to remove these?

i got one out with some irwin extractors, you know those sockets for rounded off heads

I tend to use a box spanner with a suitable bar so that you put pressure in two directions instead of just wringing the damn thing off with unequal force! They should be stainless as standard. :idea

Try knocking a torx bit in to the hole but don't be violent and break it off or you'll be knackered

used a 6mm socket hammered it on.. and plus gas.

It's when it turns easily first time it is time to panic - did it shear off or did it just open. I hate the pesky little things.

I am sure that I sourced some stainless one for one of my vehicles, I have a feeling that they were motorcycle ones. As these are on show all the time they were produced in the stainless.
