tappets!!! the tappets!!!

Post by panfriedchicken »

Hi people not a pro by any means so hopefully i can get and quick reply. :)

can i remove the rocker cover off and gasket...can i tighten the tappets and replace everything then order a new gasket. I just want to stop the noise and am free tomorrow. Advice says get a new one, is is because its sealed or suck on and will break.

Just dont want to jump in remove and fix things then be up poo creek needing a new gasket.

Cheers people :)

Check out the tappet issue on the wicki at the top of the page. It's often an oil issue. If that doesn't help come back here.

^^^whs. Your engine can easily sound like a bag of spanners particularly if stood for a while before starting. A good 20 minute run down your nearest dual carriageway can work wonders
I had a noisy tappet issue...
