Is it possible for the washer pump to make a noise but still be broke. Pump makes a noise when pressed on the stalk but water comes intermittently out of the jets ie one minute it comes out as normal then on the next press not at all.
Many thanks

Re: washer pump
I don't know but i had a similar problem and found the washer pipe was slightly kinked on the n/s, reached under the glove box/fuses to access it.
When it' happened on my car it was the small filter on the end of the pipe getting clogged so had to blow air down it to clear the obstruction while syphoning out the contents of the washer bottle because to remove the bottle virtually required me to take half the engine out ! A bit easier in the van i think.

Re: washer pump
Cheers David, will have a look at pipework tomorrow. That sounds like it could be the problem rather than the pump.

Sorted. Cheers David. Pipe had kinked where it turns at right angle at the clip behind glove box
