Hi, anyone done a Audi 80 tdi conversion and flipped box ?? Considering having a go just wandered if any of you had done one???

for pretty much the same money you can have a bespoke fully rebuilt 5 speed that just fits and works with the gearlinkage you have

The Audi 80 was a *very* early TDI. IIRC it's the one with the mechanical MAF ? I think that particular engine is odd in several ways and really not as good a donor as a later Golf engine. I would suggest seeking out a late Mk3 AHU, or even a gen 1 Sharan (up to '99 ?)
Can't see the point an a flipped box, the T3 box copes OK with TDI torque. There might be a justification with a PD or a big petrol but not with a 90hp TDI.
