My apologies if I am insulting your intelligence, but the way I understood your post I just thought I'd check one thing. You say you checked the spade terminals on the thermostat plug? Are you talking about the radiator fan switch that screws into the bottom of the radiator? If so, the spade terminals are on the switch itself BUT the bit you need to check with the paperclip is the cable that connects to the switch, not the switch itself.

Again, I'm sorry if I have misinterpreted your post, but just thought I'd double check before you go buying a new fan.

If the fan works then all you need to replace is the switch:

Although be aware that there are a few different switches depending if you have a single, 2 or 3 speed fan.

If you need a fan, there's one on ebay at the mo for 25 quid, although how much life is left in it is anyones guess!

Good luck :ok
