carburettor problem.

Post by daisybell »

Thanks for previous help on these forums. Really appreciate it all. Our 1986 T25 has been fitted with Weber 34 DAT carb, but the engine doesn't run well possibly due to the carb being worn. We're looking to replace it. Any suggestions of where to get a replacement or even an overhaul kit for the Weber we have! Everything seems to be out of stock just now! Thank you.

Ideally, that's what we'd like to do but haven't been able to track one down! Do you know of a supplier?

Sorry to hear of your problems. The Weber is a pretty awful thing - crude and unreliable, and thankfully no longer available.
The original Pierburg is a far better carb, as Kev says. I have just sent 3 off to Bromyard VW for refurb, he may sell you one outright. Failing that, I may well be able to find you a good used one.

Thanks aj, I've emailed them this morning to see if they can help. We assumed that it had a Pierburg when we bought it and got an overhaul kit for that, but then we couldn't get it to fit!! Still, we're getting closer to getting it up and running and have started the interior as well now. Exciting times. Will let you know what Bromyard say.
